Goose eggs will not fit, and large duck eggs may not. This unit takes chicken eggs and smaller — quail and pigeon are comfortable. Duck compatibility depends on the breed; a large-breed duck egg is likely too big. If ducks or geese are the point, choose a larger-cell unit.

A sponge layer at the base helps spread heat and hold humidity evenly. Leave it in place.

How do I stop the eggs turning for lockdown?

How should I use the vent?
Days 1 to 18: open it if humidity is too high, close it if too low. Days 19 to 21: open it fully, because hatching chicks need fresh air.

How should I store eggs before setting them?
Use fertile eggs laid within the last week. If they arrived by post, rest them large end up for at least six hours before setting, then start once the incubator has stabilised.

Can I open it to help a chick that is struggling?
No. A chick can rest for twelve hours between pipping and zipping, and opening the lid drops the humidity that lets it turn inside the shell. Leave it.

Unplug the incubator and let it cool before cleaning. Wipe the shell and the clear dome with a soft cloth and warm water with a little mild soap, then dry completely. Never submerge the base, and keep water away from the heating element and the fan.

Clean the tray and the water channels after every hatch. Shell fragments and membrane left behind are what cause bacterial problems in the next batch. Let every part dry fully before you store the unit.

Every incubator is covered against manufacturing defects for 3 years from the delivery date. If the thermostat, the fan or the turner motor fails within that period, contact us with your order number and we will repair or replace the unit at our cost.

The warranty does not cover damage from drops, liquid inside the base, or use outside the stated temperature range.
